Process:
This card measures 5 1/2 x 7 1/2. I cut a piece of white cardstock to measure 5 x 7. Using a pencil and my Tim Holtz ruler I lightly drew lines every one inch both vertically and horizontally making a grid of 1” squares across the entire panel (very lightly). Still using my pencil I figured out which words would fit where by lightly writing the letters in the boxes in all directions. Once that was figured out I stamped each word on a scrap piece of cardstock making sure there was enough room to punch each letter out using my 1 inch square punch. Once they were all punched out I sniped a TINY strip from all four sides of each letter so there would be just a bit or breathing room between each letter. Then I inked the edges of each letter with the coordinating ink color I chose for each letter. Once that was done I set aside the words/letters and focused on the empty spaces. For these I set up my homemade grid paper into my stamp platform and I filled each empty square with a random letter. I stamped these in Versafine Black Onyx Ink a few times until they were nice and solid. Now it was time to put my colorful letters/words back on. I did this by adhering each square with foam tape back where it belonged. I erased any visible pencil marks and moved onto the inside.
For the inside panel I used my Tim Holtz ruler to align the word “friend” perfectly straight and centered. I inked up each one in a different color matching the colors on the front. Thanks to my stamp platform I was able to get a crisp solid image from my distress inks. Then I glued the panel in the center of the inside. Finally I picked out some matching sequins from my stash and glued them onto the front of the card by it’s like colord letters. That finished this super fun card! I just can’t wait to give it to my sweet friend!
