IG DT Project Created by Candace Gillespie

Merry Christmas in July!

For this project I used:

- MMI “Celebrate The Season” Stamp Set

- Distress Inks In: Blueprint Sketch, kit #14

                            Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade,kit #1

                            Fossilized Amber kit # 13

- Distress Oxide In Black Soot
- Mini Ink Blending Tools With Sponges
- Nuvo Crystal Drops In Ivory Seashell
- Versafine Black Onyx Ink
- Art Glitter Glue
- Tonic Studio / Tim Holtz Stamp Platform (similar stamping tool as the MISTI)
- Small Stamp Block

Process:

First thing was to ink up a 4x5-1/4 card base with Black Soot, Blueprint Sketch, Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, then Fossilized Amber and then in reverse to intensify the colors. Once that was done I put this card base into my Stamp Platform and aligned the beautiful manger scene stamp just where I wanted it and inked it up with my Versafine Black Onyx Ink and stamped it repeating until the image was perfect. Then I aligned the large Merry Christmas sentiment and only inked up the Christmas portion and stamped it until it was also crisp and clear. Then came the twinkle star stamps also inked with Versafine Black Onyx Ink mounted onto a small stamp block and stamped in various key spots then in water leaving a ghosting affect... or is it effect??? I still don’t get that one 😀. I also sprinkled some water onto it to activate the ink a little.
Then using Nuvo Crystal Drops, I added a drop into the center of each star stamped in Black. I set it aside to dry then glued it onto the front of a Black A2 size card base.
For the inside I simply stamped the two sentiments and sparkling stars using my Stamp Platform and Black Onyx Ink. Then inked up the edges with black soot. Finally I added Nuvo Crystal drops to the centers of the stars and glued the panel in once it was dry.

LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! This stamp set uses a gorgeous font that really high lites the focal manger scene image. Just beautiful!
