Hey everyone, this is Sarmin from FUNtastic Crafts. I hope all of you have had a fantastic Tuesday. Today we are going to be creating yet another card for Maymay Made It Design Team challenge. Our challenge for this month is to create cards using the colors orange, brown and pink. I created yet another floral card since I have been really feeling fall florals lately.
I used the colors Summertime, Acorn and Glamorous in the Versafine Clair inks to create this card. I also used a masking technique I wanted to try for a while and had the opportunity to use in this card!
To get started, I put down some tape that I had in my stash to create the mask. You can use the purple tape or any type of tape you have, just make sure it is not too tacky, so you can peel it off easily. By the way, I did use 110lb Neenah card stock for this card. I also used Maymay Made It stamp set Floral Kaleidoscope.
After the masking was complete, I began stamping my images. I started with the large flower in Glamorous Versafine ink. It is amazing how crisp these colors are.
I'm going to use the acorn color to do the second part of the stamp, which is the top layer. This is an outline of the flower. I did the same thing with my other floral image. I also used the color Acorn to stamp some leaves. Once my stamping was completed, I simply took a Nuvo water marker and filled my background using a very pale pink.
I then waited for my card layer to dry and then gently removed the masking tape. I then masked off the top and the bottom so that I can go in with the Versafine Summertime time ink and color the middle section in. I also stamped some outlines of leaves onto this orange background.
Once I was done with that, I placed a sentiment in the middle of my orange background. I added this panel onto a brown A2 size card base and finished the card by adding a few(okay more than a few) Nuvo drops just here and there!
So that completes the card. I thought it came out really pretty. With this months challenge, I realized that you can make some gorgeous cards when you get yourself out of the box and try to play with unfamiliar color combinations.
I really hope you all have a great Tuesday! Make sure to check my video tutorial on this card for more tips and tricks. Thanks so much for joining me today, until next time everyone, bye!
