Oh Christmas Tree

Ho Ho Ho y’all,

It’s that time of year when we start planning and making Christmas cards and projects. So come on in and check out this fun creative card I have for you today.

Today I am going to make my first 5 x 7 card. So I cut down a 5 x 7 card base with some Neenah 110lb solar white cardstock and also went ahead and cut down a mat in red cricut glitter paper and another mat in 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock. I then went ahead and took my art glitter glue and adhered them to the front of the card base.

Next thing I did was take the pear tart memento dew drop ink and pressed it down onto some white cardstock. I then took a darker shade of memento, bamboo leaves, and lightly smooshed it on top of the pear tart impression.

Once I completed all 16 impressions I then took some white puffy paint and put a little bit at the larger end of the dew drop impressions. Once completed I used my heat tool and heat set the puffy paint until it puffed up like a soufflé. Note be sure to continuously move heat tool to prevent scorching the puffy paint. Once dried I cut all the impressions out by hand aka cranking cutting.

For the front of the card I used the stamp that looks like bacon from Maymay’s relic stamp set and stamped it down on the bottom center of the card using vintage photo distress oxide ink to mimic a tree trunk.

I then took the memento dew drop impressions and arranged them on the front of the card to form a Christmas tree and adhering them down with my art glitter glue. I left some room at the bottom of each one to be able to curl it up some to add some dimension.

Next I went ahead and used a star punch and punched it out of some silver card stock and adhered it down on top of the Christmas tree. I then took the presents from Maymay’s stamp set memory lane and stamped them down on both sides of the tree trunk using memento tuxedo black ink. I then colored them in with some glitter gel pens.

For the inside of the card I took the merry Christmas sentiment from Maymay’s stamp set Santa’s stuck and stamped it with my memento tuxedo black ink and then colored in the M and the C with some glitter gel pens. Last thing I did for the inside of the card was to stamp the wreath from the memory lane stamp set using the memento bamboo leaves and then colored in the bow with a red glitter gel pen. Final touch on the card was to add some shimmer to the Christmas tree using a clear spectrum noir glitter pen.

This completes our project for today and I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did making it and enjoy the fun and creativeness that Christmas in July brings to us crafters.

That’s very creative! I would have never thought of making tree leaves from dew drop pads pressed into paper. My hats off to you! The relic set is interesting. Bacon looking stamp, lol. And there’s something the could resemble a spilled splat of ketchup or something of the sort?… anyway, I digress. I own only one may may made it set and that’s the coffee set because of a challenge you hosted. I’m gonna keep coming back because I like what I see!
