maymay's pictorial design team matchbook candy holder

Hi, Robin here sharing another quick easy project.

To make this matchbook candy holder, you will need 2 pieces of cardstock. A base piece measuring 2 1/4 wide by 8 inches long. Also, a small decorative piece 2" by 1 3/4".

Next score at 2" and 5 1/2" on the long 8-inch side.

Burnish on the score lines to create the match book holder. I love this Tonic Studios Precision Glide  Bone Folder. It gives crisp folds and has a natural feel in the hand. Then I adhered the smaller square tot the inside front flap to add a pop of color.

Now to decorate! For this holder, I was going for a gingerbread girl look, so I used Memento tuxedo black ink and Maymay made it Let's Make Friends stamps for the girly eyes, nose and mouth. It is the perfect size for this project, and so many different characters and looks can be created with this stamp set.

Next is to add other features and to give a more feminine look, I stamped the bow from Maymay’s Memory Lane stamp set. The wreath from this stamp set was used as the flap to keep the matchbook closed.

On the inside of the first front flap, I stamped the Happy Holidays sentiment from this versatile stamp set. I was able to create and decorate 3 different matchbook holders with it.

Here's the fun part, adding the candy! I used the Ghirardelli chocolates, but a Reese’s' peanut butter cup would work great too! The candy is adhered using double sided tape put in the middle inside square, it fits perfectly.

To complete the holder, I carefully place a dimensional foam piece on the back of the lower part of the wreath, this is going to keep the top flap tucked and closed.

Here's the finished treat holder. Super cute and easy peasy!

As shown, I was also able to make a scarecrow and using the Maymay stamp set Blessings, used a leaf appropriate for Fall and whipped up an adorable snowman for Winter all using the Let's Make Friends stamp set.
