maymays pictorial design team Mini Photo Album
Hi Crafty Peeps, Robin here with a quick and easy photo book. I was inspired by the festive Mintay Winterland Paper collection, perfect for a Christmas keepsake or as a gift.
Supplies:
Grab the Mintay Winterland paper kit and the other items and let's make something pretty!
1.Using the paper trimmer, cut the chipboard, 2 pieces at 4 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches and 1 piece 3/4 x 8 1/2 inches. These are the base of the album and will make it sturdy. Cover one side of chipboard pieces with Elizabeth craft designs double sided adhesive.
2.Choose paper from Mintay collection that will be the outside cover. Cut this paper 10 1/2 x 12 inches, scoring at 1 inch on all four sides. Release adhesive backing and center chipboard pieces within the 1 inch border as shown. Make a miter cut diagonally in each corner. Carefully fold sides of paper around chipboard, then add double sided adhesive to all four sides of paper and on chipboard. Release backing. Fold and burnish with bone folder to make a strong hold.
3.Choose paper for inside cover, cut this piece 8 1/8 x 9 5/8 inches. Add adhesive to side that will not be shown. Release adhesive backing from inside cover and center and adhere to book. Begin to carefully fold covers together.
4.Now to make the waterfall flaps bases for the photos. Cut 7 pieces of coordinating cardstock 4 x 4 1/2 inches, scoring at 4 inches on the 4 1/2 inch side. Fold and burnish this score line. Create a waterfall base by cutting cardstock into a piece that is 7 3/4 x 4 inches.
5.Using the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper scallop punch, cut the two ends opposite the score line on the 4 x 4 1/2 rectangles. Also scallop two ends on the waterfall base piece as shown.
6.Place double sided adhesive on the small fold next to the score line on all 7 pieces. Place adhesive on one side of the waterfall base.
7.Release the backing from the base and center and adhere to right side of photo cover. Add waterfall flaps one at a time centering under each other working vertically down the base.
8.Cut 15 pieces in whatever papers you choose for the waterfall mats. These will be glued on the front and back sides of each flap. I chose to make an extra mat and decorative paper and made a pocket on the left side to hold a tag or a message.
9.Now the fun part! Decorate the cover with cut a parts or images from this beautiful paper, not much is needed this paper can hold its own. I decided to add this gold ribbon around the book to close before adding anything pieces to the outside cover.
That's it! We would love to see your project. Upload photos in the customer gallery!! Thanks -Robin
