Hey friends!
I'm thrilled to be back on the Maymay Made It blog today to share another fun scene building card with you! This card really pushed me outside my comfort zone, but I'm loving the experimentation of these scene cards.
To get started, I stamped out the images I knew I wanted to incorporate from the Sea-Lestial stamp set. This is a giant 6x8 set, so these images are an awesome size! I chose the seagull, shell, and small starfish for my scene. I cut masks for each of these images from full sticky back post-it notes as well.
Next, I grabbed Distress Oxide Inks in Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap for the sand. For my sky, I used Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire, Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade, and Picked Raspberry. Phew! A lot of colors, but totally worth it! I blended on my colors and then removed the masks from my stamped images.
I used my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers to color in the stamped images and also add some dimension and detail to the rest of my scene. I used a white paint pen to add waves to the water and stars to the night sky.
I chose the 'make a wish on a starfish' sentiment and stamped that with Brutus Monroe Embossing Ink using my Mini MISTI. I coated it with Alabaster Embossing Powder from Brutus Monroe and melted it with my heat tool.
To finish things off, I added a little gold sparkle to the light area on the water and mounted my card front on Brutus Monroe Foam Tape. I adhered this to a white A2 top folding card base and that finished my card!
