Snowflake card, Distress Ink Painting Background Continuing our month long “color throw down challenge”, I have created a background using distress inks as watercolors in shades of pink and orange. I then added a sentiment in chocolate brown. I love finding ways to stretch my supplies, so using distress inks as anything other than ink blending or stamping is a big plus for me. As part of our Christmas in July background challenge, I was inspired by a recent video by Maymay, where she stamped and then colored on the back of vellum. This mutes the colors and gives a stained glass affect. I also wanted to create a shaker card, but adhesive is so difficult to hide when working with vellum, hence the sewing. Full disclosure, I cannot sew (unless you count cross stitch).
