Porthole Window Card by Crystal Cleveland

This card is plain on the outside, but is surprisingly different on the inside. That's the beauty of making your own cards.

For this card you will need the following items:

Maymay's stamp sets:

Anchors

Beacon

Birdie says

Combined with stampin up

Seaside Shore stamp set

Pacific point card stock

Daffodil delight card stock

Glue dots

Pacific point ink

Wild wasabi ink

Real red ink

Versa fine black ink

Art glitter glue

Versa mark ink

Repositionable tape runner

acetate

silver card stock or a vacuum seal liner with a paper backing

DIRECTIONS:

Cut Pacific point card stock at

5.5 x 8.5" score at 4.25"

Cut Daffodil delight card stock at 5 x 4". Using repositioning tape runner (they are the yellow containers) place the daffodil delight card stock on the inside of the pacific point. Using my circle dies cut a circle through both layers. This is porthole card so the hole doesn't need to be large enough to show the whole image. Close the card and using a mechanical pencil draw around the opening marking a circle on the blue card stock. Then remove the yellow card stock. (Mechanical pencils erase easier and cleaner.)

Cut a silver ring with the die cuts using the same size die for the center that was used in the center of blue and yellow card stock. I used the vacuum seal liner from a large mayonnaise jar, but you can use a piece of silver card stock as well. If you use a vacuum liner, use one that has a paper backing so it will keep your project shape stable plus it will take the glue better.

I drew a circle on the back side of the ring and using 1/16 hole punch, punch all around the center using the side of the punch as a spacing guide.

Place a square piece of acetate using glue dots over the center hole on the inside of the card.

Some people just leave the inside of their cards looking like this (above picture) but I feel it looks unfinished.

Using versa mark stamp and the rain drops from birdie says stamp set, stamp all over the front of the blue card stock. Using art glitter glue, glue the silver porthole ring on the front of the card. The ring should glue to the card stock not the acetate.

On the yellow card stock stamp sea weed (from the seaside shore stamp set) using wild wasabi ink on the bottom of the card. (I use the repositional tape to hold my yellow card stock from moving while I stamp) Don't be afraid to stamp off of the card stock

Stamp the sea weed on the card and then stamp 2 more times before re- inking. Using pacific point ink stamp fish using the same stamp set and then mask them off and stamp more fish.

Unmask the fish and mask other fish and stamp again. Repeat until there's a whole school of fish.

On white card stock and real red ink stamp the sailboat from beacon stamp set. Fussy cut it out and glue it in the center of the circle that was drawn on the inside of the card. carefully erase the pencil lines.

Stamp the waves under the sailboat using pacific point ink. Stamp the sentiment when you go through the waters using black ink .
