This week at Maymay Made It we have a Masculine Birthday Card Challenge. I made this card using 2 of Maymay’s stamp sets - Beacon and From All of Us Stamps sets.
First, I cut a piece of watercolour cardstock to 4 1/4 * 5 1/2 inches. Next, I stamped the lighthouse, the boat and the birds using VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and sprinkled Clear Embossing powder, dusted off the excess and heat set it. After that, I stamped the sentiment using my Tim Holtz Stamp Platform and heat embossed it as well. I used Derwent Inktense colours to colour the images.
Once I was done colouring, I stamped the lighthouse, and the boat on a masking sheet, fussy cut it and used it to mask the images. Then I tore a sheet of masking paper and masked the land. Next, I coloured the sea using Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Ink. To create the texture, I smooshed Salty Ocean Distress Ink on my Ranger craft mat and used the Dual Ended Blender Brush to dragged the ink on the paper. After that, I masked the sea and coloured the land using Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Inks. I added texture with Derwent Inktense pencils.
To create the sky, I used Drifts & Hills Stencil by My Favorite Things along with Squeezed Lemonade, Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade, Ripe Persimmon and Barn Distress Oxide Inks.
Finally, I stuck this panel on a white A2 card base. -Joylita
