Design Team Project by Jess Francisco Featuring Vinnie's Fav Stamp Set

Hello to everyone out there in Made It Land!

I'm Jess Francisco and I'm so thrilled to be posting for the very first time as part of the Maymay Made It Design Team. I can't wait to share all sorts of inspiration with you over the next few months.

For my project today, I used the Vinnie's Fav stamp set to create a sympathy card. These are never fun projects to create, but unfortunately, they're necessary from time to time. It makes me feel better knowing one of my handmade cards may lift someone's spirits when they need it most.

To get started, I did some ink blending in oranges and reds on a piece of white card stock. I love the way these colors blended so well together to make a really pretty gradient for my sky.

Next, I used the tree images from Vinnie's Fav to stamp out a scene. I added little branches here and there in a random pattern. I decided to add a few of the little birds as well. I like how there are birds facing both directions so you can mix and match them without everything looking identical.

I also stamped out the hawk and bear images from the set. I grabbed a piece of black card stock and cut it by hand to make a little hill for my bear to walk on. This really grounded my background and pulled it all together nicely. To finish things off, I heat embossed 'with sympathy' from Mandy's Tulips in white embossing powder. I adhered the black hill to my card front and then adhered that to a white card base. I decided not to add any embellishments because I thought the simplicity of the card was nice for the theme.

That finishes off my first project, Y'all! I hope you love it and you're inspired to create something today. I'd love to get to know you all - feel free to drop a comment and introduce yourself!

Hugs and love,

This is nice. We always need sympathy cards. Thanks for sharing in detail how you created it.
